New Set of National Awards Announced…
The central Government has introduced 56 prizes under the category of Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar,
3 Vigyan Ratna
25 Vigyan shree
25 Yuva Vigyan Shanti swarup Bhatnagar
3 Vigyan Team Awards.
News Jungal desk: It shall be given in 13 science related domains,namely
Physics, Chemistry, Biological Science, Mathmatics and Computer Science, Earth Science and Medicine, Engineering Sciences, Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Atomic Energy, Space science and Technology and others.
The objective the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar is to recognize the notable and inspiring contribution made by scientists, technologists and innovators individually or in teams in various fields of science, technology and innovation.
It will be announced annually on National Technology Day, May 11.
It will be awarded on National Space Day, August 23 in 2024.
Vigyan Ratna awards:
It will recognize lifetime achievements and contributions made in any field of science and technology.
Vigyan Shree Awards:
It will recognize any distinguished contributions to any field of science and technology.
Vigyan Team Awards:
It will be given to a team comprisingof three or more scientists/researchers/innovators who have made an exceptional contribution working in ateam in any field of science and technology.
Vigyan Yuva- Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar:
These awards are the highest multidisciplinary science awards in India for the young scientists(45 years).
Awards for PIO’s:
Persons of Indian Origin(PIO’s) will now be eligible for all the new awards except Vigyan Team awards.
These new National awards is a transformative step in recognizing achievements of scientific community at the hightest level by the government of India.
