Recently,the ministry of agriculture and Farmers’s welfare launched an AI chatbot for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna.
Key Features AI Chatbot:
News Jungal desk: It has been developed with Ekstep Foundation and Bhashini.
It will assist farmers in seeking informations such as their application status, payment details, ineligibility status etc.
The AI Chatbot accessible through the pm-kISAN mobile application, is integrated with Bhashini which offers multilingual support, catering to the linguistic and regional diversity of PM-Kisan beneficiaries.
It will provide farmers prompt, clear and accurate responses to their queries.
PM-Kisan Scheme Features:
It was lunched on 24th february 2019 to supplement financial needs of land holding farmers.
Initially this scheme was intended to small and marginal farmers having landholding upto 2 hectares, later the scope of the schem was extended to cover all landholding farmers.
Every year Financial incentives of Rs 6,000 in three equal installments is transfered into bank account of farmers families through DBT(direct benefit transfer) mode.
It is a central sector scheme with 100% funding from government of India.
It is being implemented by ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
Objectives:
To support the financial needs of small and marginal farmers in procuring various inputs to ensure proper crop health and appropriate yields, commensurate with the anticipated farm income at the end of each crop cycle.
To protect them from falling in the clutches of moneylenders for meeting such expenses and ensure their continuance in the farming activities.
